Man of God?

And now for something completely different. My church recently had a presentation by a guy known as "the Jesus painter"... The guy had serious skills with macro-size, abstract/ minimalist painting. And his testimony got me to thinking, "What if I tried to use my talents for a higher cause?"

So I sat down and sketched this out over the course of an afternoon. As stated, I was attempting to give a face to Jesus, but I have to wonder... does this read as Jesus to you, the viewer? We see so many varying artistic depictions of him, and I tried to be intentional about avoiding the stereotypical "white anglo-saxon Jesus" approach, because come on, how realistic is that? But anyway... Above all, I wanted to give him expressive eyes, and I think I mostly succeeded. But looking at it now, I feel like he looks a little too old to be a guy that died at 33. So maybe this isn't Jesus, but one of his followers? You be the judge.
